You can play the game Become a Virtual Groninger in your browser or on your phone.

Are you curious about what it’s like to be a student in Groningen? Enjoy the game Become a Virtual Groninger from the comfort of your own home before you visit the city in real life. In four levels you get a taste of this vibrant student city in the North of the Netherlands. Level one is an introduction where you take to the streets and get groceries for an assignment. In level two you visit a student house and prepare a local dish. Level three focuses on studying at either the Hanze University or the University of Groningen. Finally, in level four you get to wind down and discover the great nightlife of Groningen. Come grab your digital passport and play the game.

The development of the game Become a Virtual Groninger is a collaboration with Marketing Groningen and AAN ZET communicatie.

• Explore Groningen in 360º: walk the streets, climb the Martini Tower and stand on top of the rooftop terrace of Forum Groningen.
• Recorded sounds: the chirping of birds and chatting of people enhances the experience.
• Quiz & assignments: learn about student life and get to know local delicacies.
• Get your digital passport: play all four levels and collect the secret sentence to become a virtual Groninger.

After the release of the game we were asked to add some more features, which led to a full-fletched second version.
