All eyes are on the Dutch game industry. De Volkskrant recently published an article on the small part Dutch game studios currently play in the global 119 billion euro game industry. Today, NRC headlines (article in Dutch): ‘the Netherlands is lagging behind in the international game industry and it experiences brain drain’.
Our director Merijn de Boer highlighted similar trends during one of our events in April, where we presented the infographic below. Merijn is glad that mainstream media are paying attention to the Dutch game industry and its possibilities. Surrounding countries such as Germany and Spain are making great progress (and profit), which shows it is very attractive to invest in the game industry. Certainly considering the fact that as of recent years we have access to an abundance of data that can help us to successfully develop and position games in this complex market.
