Indietopia Accelerator episode 2 open for submissions
- On 9 August 2018
Three teams started the first episode of the Indietopia Accelerator in July. This unique accelerator program for game development gives a maximum of ten young startups the chance to be admitted and invited to come to the city of Groningen for a year to build the (serious) games of their dreams.
We’d like to announce the deadline for admission for the second episode that will start in October: September 9, 2018. Whether your product is a serious game, pure entertainment, a tabletop game or that one concept you could never finish: you are invited to send your concept or demo to accelerator@indietopia.org. An independent commission will decide upon admitting the most promising projects.
Participants will receive financial aid exceeding a total value of €40.000, which includes an advance grant, support by business development programme VentureLab North, rent for offices provided through Indiestad Groningen and support from the Indietopia team. The support ranges from marketing to workshops and talks by established developers and more.
Games sprouting from the Accelerator are required to meet the standards described in Indietopia’s code of conduct. This code adds a layer of corporate social responsibility and value to the game as a product.
The Indietopia Accelerator aims to support and boost the local economy by providing jobs and other opportunities for the gaming industry in the northern region. Ideally, the program will be revolving, functioning as the foundation for many years thereafter.
